Gluten Free Bagel Chips (Air Fryer)

These homemade bagel chips are crunchy, savory, and incredibly easy to make. Whether you need a quick snack, a party appetizer, or a sturdy dip companion, this recipe checks all the boxes. Best of all, they are made with just a few simple ingredients and cooked in the air fryer. As a result, ordinary gluten-free bagels turn into a crispy, flavorful snack in under 15 minutes.

In addition, these chips are the perfect dipper for my Roasted Garlic Hummus. Because they are sturdy and crunchy, they hold up beautifully without breaking, even with thick, creamy dips. At the same time, the light garlic seasoning complements the rich roasted garlic flavor of the hummus. Altogether, this creates a savory bite that feels elevated yet still simple and family friendly. Whether you are serving them as an appetizer, adding them to a snack board, or packing them for easy gluten free snacking, this is a dip-and-crunch combo you will want to make on repeat.

An air fryer is one of my favorite kitchen tools for making crispy snacks like these bagel chips. It cooks them evenly in minutes without deep frying, and the one I use at home is reliable, easy to clean, and perfect for everyday gluten free cooking.

Why You’ll Love These Bagel Chips

  • Gluten free
  • Made with simple pantry ingredients
  • Easy air fryer recipe with no deep frying
  • Crispy, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned

How to Make Bagel Chips in the Air Fryer

1️⃣ Slice the Bagels

Slice the bagels into thin rounds. The thinner you slice them, the crispier your chips will be.

2️⃣ Season

Place the bagel slices in a large bowl. Drizzle with avocado oil, then sprinkle with garlic powder and salt. Toss until evenly coated.

3️⃣ Air Fry

Preheat the air fryer to 390°F. Arrange the slices in a single layer in the basket. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crisp.

4️⃣ Cool & Serve

Remove from the air fryer and let cool completely. They will continue to crisp as they cool. Enjoy immediately or store for later.

Tips for Perfectly Crispy Bagel Chips

  • Use a serrated knife for clean, even slices
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket
  • Shake halfway through for even crisping
  • Adjust salt after cooking if needed

Flavor Variations

  • Everything bagel seasoning
  • Onion powder with smoked paprika
  • Cinnamon sugar for a sweet option
  • Parmesan-style or dairy-free cheesy seasoning

Storage

Store cooled chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For best crunch, keep them away from moisture.

Liz Satkowski Gluten Free Mom Colorado

I am married to the most amazing man, Tommy. I am the mother of three beautiful children Landon, Finn, and Daisy. For years I have been helping friends, family and others navigate the life of gluten-free living. I grew up in a gluten-free house, my mom and both brothers were diagnosed with Celiac Disease when I was young. My mom did an amazing job making everything from scratch in a gluten free kitchen. When I had my first child Landon my world was changed. He was born at 24 weeks because I have a short cervix. The doctor told us that he had a slim chance of survival and that his life would be plagued with severe complications. He survived and has minimal complications due to his prematurity, but when Landon was two he started getting rashes all over his body and he would constantly be sick. My mom advised me to get Landon tested for Celiac Disease. This was the beginning of my true GF journey. Shortly after he was diagnosed, I decided to go off gluten as well. Although I do not have Celiac Disease, I have found that I feel 100% better eliminating gluten from my diet. Recently Finn was having some issues with his legs and knees hurting. The doctor told me to take Finn off gluten to see if it was causing the inflammation and pain. Sure enough once we changed his diet the symptoms went away. We have Celiac Disease and gluten intolerance on both sides of the family. My sister-in-law and niece were recently diagnosed and my Grandma recently took gluten out of her diet due to an autoimmune disease. We are in a fortunate position that both of our families understand the purpose of living a gluten-free lifestyle. I am on a mission to help people create amazing gluten-free recipes and to see that this diagnosis is not a curse, but can actually be delicious.
