Strawberry Cheesecake Dessert Hummus Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15.5 oz) cooked chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 2 tbsp coconut cream
  • 1/4 cup cashew butter
  • 6–8 pitted Medjool dates
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ice cubes
  • 1 tbsp mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. First, add the chickpeas, strawberries, dates, cashew butter, coconut cream, vanilla, and ice cubes to a high-speed blender or food processor.
  2. Next, blend until completely smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
  3. Then, transfer the dessert hummus to a serving bowl.
  4. Finally, top with mini chocolate chips and sliced strawberries before serving.

For best results, chill for 30 minutes to allow the hummus to thicken and develop a more cheesecake-like texture.

What to Serve With Strawberry Dessert Hummus

One of the best parts about this recipe is how versatile it is. For example, this strawberry cheesecake hummus pairs beautifully with:

  • Fresh strawberries and apple slices
  • Gluten-free pretzels
  • Marshmallows
  • Gluten-free graham crackers
  • Watermelon cubes

As a result, it works well for dessert boards, kids’ snacks, or casual entertaining.

Tips for the Creamiest Texture

To begin with, peeling the chickpeas before blending creates an ultra-smooth hummus. Additionally, using ripe strawberries enhances the natural sweetness and flavor. If you prefer a sweeter dip, simply add one or two extra dates. On the other hand, if you like it less sweet, reduce the number of dates slightly.

Finally, chilling the hummus before serving helps it firm up and truly mimic a cheesecake-style dip.

How to Make It Allergy-Friendly

Since this recipe is already gluten-free and dairy-free, it works for many diets. However, you can easily customize it further:

  • For nut-free: Substitute cashew butter with sunflower seed butter
  • For lower sugar: Use fewer dates
  • For added protein: Blend in a scoop of vanilla protein powder

Therefore, it’s easy to adapt based on your family’s needs.

Storage Instructions

After preparing, store leftover strawberry cheesecake dessert hummus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Before serving again, simply give it a good stir, as natural separation may occur.

Liz Satkowski Gluten Free Mom Colorado

I am married to the most amazing man, Tommy. I am the mother of three beautiful children Landon, Finn, and Daisy. For years I have been helping friends, family and others navigate the life of gluten-free living. I grew up in a gluten-free house, my mom and both brothers were diagnosed with Celiac Disease when I was young. My mom did an amazing job making everything from scratch in a gluten free kitchen. When I had my first child Landon my world was changed. He was born at 24 weeks because I have a short cervix. The doctor told us that he had a slim chance of survival and that his life would be plagued with severe complications. He survived and has minimal complications due to his prematurity, but when Landon was two he started getting rashes all over his body and he would constantly be sick. My mom advised me to get Landon tested for Celiac Disease. This was the beginning of my true GF journey. Shortly after he was diagnosed, I decided to go off gluten as well. Although I do not have Celiac Disease, I have found that I feel 100% better eliminating gluten from my diet. Recently Finn was having some issues with his legs and knees hurting. The doctor told me to take Finn off gluten to see if it was causing the inflammation and pain. Sure enough once we changed his diet the symptoms went away. We have Celiac Disease and gluten intolerance on both sides of the family. My sister-in-law and niece were recently diagnosed and my Grandma recently took gluten out of her diet due to an autoimmune disease. We are in a fortunate position that both of our families understand the purpose of living a gluten-free lifestyle. I am on a mission to help people create amazing gluten-free recipes and to see that this diagnosis is not a curse, but can actually be delicious.
